Praying for a Muslim Village Chief  (in his house!)

Here is a story from our team who went this spring to a South East Asian country who have a VERY large Muslim population:

Our team was working alongside a missionary family are working hard to reach people in this challenging country with the gospel. They were very glad for our help. For 2 weeks our team walked from village to village looking to connect with those whom God was calling to Himself.

Upon entering a village we met the chief and he opened up his home to us, fed us, and showed us the ins and outs of his community. To show our appreciation we asked if we could show him a film. We set up our portable video projector (called the “pico,” pictured below), connected it to our phone and projected a short film from the Jesus Film app on the wall of the living room.

After watching the film, the chief said that he believed that Allah had blessed him with a great family and his deepest desire is to be a good dad and chief for the village. Teresa, a team member, shared that the chief reminded her of her father. She shared that he is able to be a good dad because of his relationship with Jesus. Just then, our translator said we had to go but maybe we could pray for the chief. So we asked him if we could pray for him and he said yes!  After praying, the chief said with such sincerity, ’I have had many people come into my home but NO ONE has ever prayed for me. You have blessed me very much.’ We know the Lord directed our team to this place.”

Please pray for this chief, his village and the missionaries who now have an open door to follow up with him. And pray for a team returning to this country as I write this, that He will open even more doors of opportunity!
